Captivating Conversations: Jeff Kirkman, Prison Programs
Join the Old Idaho Penitentiary for a Captivating Conversation with Jeff Kirkman, Program Manager at the Idaho Department of Corrections. Marie Johnston, Kirkman joined the department in 2001. He has worked as a paralegal, management assistant, contract monitor and most recently as IDOC’s statewide coordinator for access to courts, religious activities and volunteers. He served as warden at the women’s prison in Pocatello for a year in 2014.
Kirkman earned an associate degree in general education from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Boise State University. He has served as an instructor at the Peace Officers Standards and Training Academy in Meridian and is a graduate of Idaho’s Certified Public Manager program
This event is FREE. Pre-register online, or arrive at the Old Idaho Penitentiary by 6:30 pm on Thursday, December 9. Recommended for ages 13+ due to mature content.
Thursday, December 9. Doors open at 6:00 pm, presentation begins at 6:30 pm. Site closes at 8:00 pm.
“Captivating Conversations” is an ongoing lecture series, hosted by the Old Idaho Penitentiary and featuring a variety of guest speakers and topics ranging from the history of the Idaho State Penitentiary to the issues facing correctional institutions today.
