About Samantha Johnson:
Samantha Johnson is a Community Service Specialist and Fleet Coordinator with Ada County Juvenile Court Services. In this presentation, she and Brandon will share insights into the impactful programs offered by Ada County Juvenile Services.

Bringing over nine years of expertise, she specializes in managing juvenile offenders and their court-ordered community service hours, while also overseeing fleet maintenance for all Ada County juvenile court, court programs and juvenile probation. Samantha and her team were recognized by the Dry Creek Historical Society in their newsletter for their outstanding contributions to preserving the Schick-Ostolasa Farmstead. With extensive training in adolescent development, mental health, substance use, and de-escalation, she brings compassion and expertise to her work. Samantha loves helping youth connect with their community and gain valuable skills that benefit their futures.

About Brandon Phillips:
Brandon Phillips serves as a Community Service Specialist with Ada County Juvenile Services, where he has worked for over five years. In this role, he coordinates meaningful community service opportunities for youth, fostering personal growth and accountability through group service projects at local nonprofit organizations such as the Idaho State Veterans Home, the Vineyard Food Pantry, the Boise Zoo, and the Old Idaho Penitentiary. Brandon also serves as a mentor and strives to be a positive role model, guiding youth toward better decision-making and helping them build confidence, responsibility, and community connection.

Before joining Ada County, Brandon spent 10 years with the Idaho Department of Correction, gaining extensive experience in the criminal justice system and deepening his commitment to rehabilitation and public service. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and is dedicated to creating strong, restorative connections between youth and the community.

“Captivating Conversations” is an ongoing educational experience series, hosted by the Old Idaho Penitentiary and featuring a variety of guest speakers and topics ranging from the history of the Idaho State Penitentiary to the issues facing correctional institutions today.
