By fostering collaboration among local governments, state and federal agencies, and nonprofit organizations these partnerships ensure that preservation efforts are community driven. Effective partnerships combine technical expertise, funding opportunities, and grassroots advocacy to protect and celebrate historic places.

For over 40 years, Preservation Idaho has worked to protect historic places of significance to Idahoans. Though at times limited in its ability to affect real change outside of the Treasure Valley, Preservation Idaho has worked across the state in small ways and large to preserve the architecture and history that makes Idaho unique.
Preservation Idaho is a 501(c)(3) non-profit registered with the IRS. We do not receive any State or Federal operating funds. We fund our education and advocacy work through memberships, donations, sponsorships, and grants.
The Idaho Archaeological Society’s mission is to preserve, educate, and encourage the study of Idaho’s antiquities.
The Idaho Archaeological Society (IAS), founded in 1971, achieves its objective through a series of programs. The society is a statewide organization providing a range of programming that includes lectures, seminars, museum visits, and field trips, among other events to its membership and interested parties. In addition, the society hosts an annual conference where Idaho archaeologists present the results of their recent research and supports several publications: a professional journal, the Idaho Archaeologist, and Artifacts, the newsletter of the IAS.

Founded in 1989, the Idaho Heritage Trust began as a lasting legacy of the Centennial Celebration of 1990.
- Funded more than 400 projects totaling over $3 million in grants and technical architectural, engineering and conservation advice.
- Provided grants and technical assistance in every county in Idaho.
- Awarded more than 66% of grants to communities of 5,000 or less.
Idaho’s Bicentennial in 2090 will be the pinnacle milestone for the Idaho Heritage Trust. A century of preservation will take center stage for a new generation to visit in celebration.

The mission of the National Park Service (NPS) is to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.

The National Alliance of Preservation Commissions (NAPC) provides technical support and manages a nationwide information network to help local preservation commissions achieve their goals. Through education and training programs—such as the biennial FORUM conference and the Commission Assistance and Mentoring Program (CAMP®)—NAPC has equipped thousands of commission members and staff with the skills needed to guide preservation efforts in their communities. Preservation Twin Falls is dedicated to preserving and promoting Idaho’s historic buildings, homes, and neighborhoods. We aim to ensure that the area’s rich cultural heritage can be appreciated and learned from by future generations. Through various initiatives and programs, we capture the essence of the past, restore historic properties, share knowledge and expertise, and offer volunteer opportunities for those interested in preservation.
