Idaho State Musem Homeschool Days
Homeschool students and their families are encouraged to explore the Museum and experience the stories of Idaho on selected Homeschool Days each month from 10am – 3pm.
Join us on the first Friday and third Wednesday of each month! Please note: We will not be hosting this program on some dates due to events happening in Julia Davis Park.
Admission is $4 per student (Youth 2 and up) and adults/teachers in a 1:1 ratio are $5, any additional adults must pay regular admission. ISHS Members are free. Preregistration is required; Walkups will not be accommodated. Payment is due at the time of reservation and is non-refundable.
To ensure an enjoyable experience for all participants, we are implementing timed entry ticketing. When registering, please select an arrival time that works best for your schedule. Everyone will have until 3:00 PM to participate in the classroom activity.

January 21: Four Seasons of Idaho through the 5 Senses
Experience Idaho’s seasons like never before! From snowy winters to sunny summers, explore how we see, hear, smell, taste, and touch the changing world around us.
February 6: Keystone Species
Discover the animals that help keep Idaho’s ecosystems balanced and healthy! Learn why keystone species matter and how they have shaped our history.
March 6: Curator for the Day
Put on your museum curator hat and go behind the scenes! Learn how museums collect, care for, and share treasures from the past.
April 3 & 15: Pioneer Days
Step back in time and live like a pioneer! Try hands-on activities and learn how early Idaho settlers worked and played on the frontier.
May 1 & 20: United We Celebrate
For generations, people in Idaho have been celebrating remarkable moments and milestones of our history which unite us. Join us as we explore the temporary exhibit United We Celebrate: The Traditions That Bring America Together, open until January 3, 2027.
