Lunar New Year Celebration
On February 3 from 10 am – 5 pm, join the Idaho State Museum and the Idaho Chinese Organization to celebrate and honor the traditions of Lunar New Year in Idaho with hands-on activities and crafts, food, and performances. Performances begin at 12 pm and include White Lotus Dancers, Traditional Chinese Dancers, Kuna Kung Fu, the Boise Modern Chinese School and Renaissance High School.
Visitors can also visit two special pop-up exhibits, including Creating Community in Boise’s Chinatown, that focuses on the exploration of how Chinese migrants found community support in Boise’s Chinatown and a youth art show exhibit that features artwork that expresses their vision of the “Year of the Dragon.”
Food will be available for purchase, including Basquenese Food Truck, Sushi Bro’s Food Truck, and Huici’s baked goods and sweets.
This event is included with museum admission and free for Idaho State Historical Society Members.
