Blossom Together: Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage in Idaho
Join us at the Idaho State Museum on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10 AM to 5 PM, for a special community day celebrating the many cultures that make up the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in Idaho.
This event will feature cultural performances, hands-on crafts for all ages, as well as a vendor fair, food trucks, and a pop-up exhibit in the Museum’s Canyon Gallery showcasing the history of Idaho’s Korean community. Admission is free all day!
Thank you to the following organizations for their collaboration and support to make this community day possible: Indo Idaho, Filipino American Association of Idaho, Idaho Island Festival, Japanese American Citizens League, Global Lounge, and the Idaho Museum of International Diaspora.
Things to do at the event:
- Crafts for all ages from 10AM-4PM.
- Vendor fair featuring local artisans from the AAPI community from 12PM-4PM.
- Food trucks outside of the Museum from 12PM-5PM.
- A pop-up exhibit, titled To the Beat of Her Drum, exploring Idaho’s Korean community through the traditional music and dance of Okhee Chang.
- Performances in the Idaho Room featuring:
- 12-12:30PM: Indo Idaho
- 1-1:30PM: Bollywood Beats
- 2-2:30PM: Idaho Pacific Islanders
- 3-3:30PM: Filipino-American Association Group
