Cinema Close to Home: “Idaho Kid”

Take a break from the summer heat to watch “Idaho Kid” starring Rex Bell and Marion Shilling. Released in 1936, this film follows the story of cowboy Todd Hollister. After his mother died in childbirth, his father wants nothing to do with him. Todd goes on to be raised on the range by John Endicott, Hollister’s archrival. Keeping his real identity a secret, an older Todd takes on the name Idaho, while he and his young sidekick get a job on the Hollister ranch with the idea to stop the feud between Hollister and Endicott. However, others wish the feud to continue for their own profit. Will Idaho and his sidekick succeed, or will they become casualties on the range?
