The list is broken out into specific disciplines defined by the Secretary of the Interior’s 36 CFR 61 Historic Preservation Professional Qualification Standards. 

Please indicate in which field(s) you would like to be listed and provide information showing how your qualifications meet the specific standards for each discipline. Please review these Standards carefully, including the academic background requirements, and provide enough detailed information that can be readily interpreted and applied toward determining qualifications. 

For instance, the standards for Architectural Historian require a degree in architectural history (or closely-related field*) which must include coursework** in American Architectural History. If the materials submitted do not include specific information that details how you have met all requirements, you will not be included in that discipline’s list. 

*closely-related field – each Professional Qualification provides a list of accepted programs in a section titled “closely related fields” 

**coursework – is defined as a semester-long, college-level course in which a passing grade is received
