Spring Break Camp – CANCELLED

We are prioritizing the health and safety of all of our visitors, staff, and volunteers above all else. Spring Break Camp has been cancelled. The Education Department will be working to notify participants and we will be issuing refunds or credits as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Summer Camps

Get full access to the Idaho State Museum this summer! Join us for a summer of exciting and innovative adventures!

Each week your camper will participate in:

  • Exclusive tours of the Museum’s exhibitions and access to one-of-a-kind artifacts that tell stories from Idaho’s past
  • Artmaking including drawing, painting, sculpture, and more!
  • STEM activities related to Idaho structures, ecosystems, and technologies
  • Excursions to other cultural sites in and nearby Julia Davis Park
  • Outside games and activities including farmer freeze tag and our salmon migration obstacle course
  • Showcases and art exhibitions of campers’ projects on Fridays for parents and guardians

Park Explorers

Explore Julia Davis Park! Visit a different cultural institution each day. Partners include: Boise Art Museum, Zoo Boise, Basque Museum & Cultural Center, Idaho State Museum, and the Discovery Center of Idaho. A detailed schedule will be provided. Members of participating organizations may receive the discounted member rate for this camp. Participants will begin and end each day at the Boise Art Museum.

Engineering Idaho Cities

Dive into the day in the life of an architect as you work to design and engineer your very own city and structures! Your camper will spend two days at the Idaho State Museum and the rest at the Discovery Center!

Scratching the Surface of Idaho History

Jump into our state’s history and learn how to re-tell it digitally, using new coding skills with Scratch. Your camper will spend the mornings at the Idaho State Museum and the afternoons at the Discovery Center!

Idaho Explorers!

Get To Know Idaho

Learn about Idahoans that have made our state great and defined history. Come experience first-hand the roles of innovators, explorers, artists, scientists and more! Master your leatherworking skills, design a map of the park for a camp friend to navigate, and build a bridge that can span a canyon while we learn about the important roles people play in a community.

Boomtown

Explore the people, places, and history that make Idaho great! Campers will engage with Idaho’s cultures, traditions, architecture, recreation and more through hands-on activities, museum exploration, and play. Plant your own crop, build Boise’s newest skyscraper, and join our Museum parade as we learn about and celebrate our community.

Nature of Idaho and Beyond

Trek through our local past and uncover the global connections we all have to nature and wildlife. Spend the mornings face to face with the animal ambassadors of Zoo Boise as they inspire understanding of the variety found in the world. Visit the Idaho State History Museum in the afternoons to bring the connection and shared experiences home. Each location will be rolling out the best of the best in this partnership. Members of Zoo Boise & Idaho State History Museum may receive the discounted member rate for this camp.

Campers will need to bring their own snacks and a bag lunch for each day of camp. We will explore the Museum as well as the outdoors in Julia Davis Park so please have campers dress appropriately for the weather. More information on camps, including necessary forms and documentation will be e-mailed to attendees after registration.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Cancellations received two weeks prior to camp dates will be refunded in full. Cancellations with less than two weeks notice will be not be refunded. Any questions please contact Education staff at shseducation@ishs.idaho.gov
