Scholarships and Funding Opportunities

Need help paying for your class field trip? We are now accepting applications for the Ray Knight Memorial Scholarship, which provides opportunities for students that normally would not be able to visit our site the chance to experience the Old Idaho Penitentiary through funding for field trip costs. The scholarships can apply to field trips to the Old Idaho Penitentiary, Rock Creek/Stricker Ranch site in Hansen, Idaho, Franklin site in Franklin, Idaho, and eventually the Idaho State Museum (will reopen in 2018). Call us at (208) 334-2844 for more information on this scholarship opportunity. Applications are due December 15, 2017!

The Ray Knight Scholarship is a memorial for a volunteer who gave many years of service to the Old Idaho Penitentiary and loved sharing the history of the site with school groups.

Our goal is to make sure all kids engage in and understand Idaho’s rich history!
