Ralph Allen presents Idaho’s rich history of bridges and railroad trestles as seen through old postcard images. Mr. Allen decided he wanted to be an Architect at an early age because of a mistaken idea that architects made tons of money, lived in exciting houses, had fancy cars and beautiful wives. Only three out of four of those turned out to be true. Mentoring under a noted preservation architect he has spent most of his professional career in historic preservation both in private practice and for NASA. He has a weakness for spending an inordinate amount of time developing historic programs with topics such as steamboats, inns and resorts, railroads and NASA test stands. He alternates time between Boise and the southeast. You can guess which of the two is his winter home. Admission is free.
