The Idaho State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) provides a record search service for qualified researchers needing information regarding historic and archaeological surveys and sites.  Researchers typically need this information for background in conducting Section 106 Review investigations.  The process includes downloading the record search form, filling it out, and submitting it and a map showing the area of interest as attachments to the record search e-mail address.  The results of the search are then returned to the researcher by e-mail.  Fees are based on the extent of the area searched.  Search results provide a list of the known archaeological sites within the search area as well as a list of survey reports. Copies of individual site forms are available for an additional fee.
