On-site Guidelines
Idaho State Archives welcomes patrons to conduct their research on site. Because collections may be fragile, highly specialized
and unique, special handling, and access provisions are necessary.
Patrons are invited to preserve Idaho’s historic collections by following these basic rules when visiting the Idaho State Archives.
Please read the following:
Check Personal belongings such as coats, cellular phones, briefcases,
packages, and purses in the complimentary lockers provided
at Research Center entry.
Write With only pencils and laptop computers.
Wear Cotton gloves while handling certain archival, and manuscript
materials.
Ask Staff for assistance if you have any questions of concerns regarding
the handling of materials.
Eat Only in the lounge.
Note Certain materials may be too fragile to photocopy or may be
restricted by copyright.
