Why on earth was the Arco Desert home to 52 nuclear reactors during the 1950s-1960s? Susan Stacy will tell stories about some of the more spectacular reactors and what they were doing at the Nuclear Reactor Testing Station, now known as Idaho National Laboratory. Stacy, who wrote a history of the INL called "Proving the Principle," promises that attendees will require absolutely no background in nuclear physics whatsoever. Attendees are welcome to bring lunch. Coffee, punch and cookies will be available. No charge for Friends or ISHS members. Admission fees: $5.00 adult, $4.00 senior, $3 ages 6-13 and students with valid ID.
